Dr. Sandra Stewart
DVM

Veterinarian

A long-time Atlanta native, Sandy Stewart grew up in Decatur, where she graduated from Redan High School. She attended Duke University for her undergrad and went on to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Stewart received her DVM degree from UGA in 1986 and immediately went into emergency and critical care medicine for the next four years. In 1990 she joined the staff at Pleasant Hill Animal Hospital where she practiced until 1996. At that time she took a short sabbatical to start her family, although she continued to work a few days a month at Pleasant Hill and Medlock Bridge Animal Hospital. She returned to regular veterinary work in 2003 providing relief veterinary services to several practices around the Atlanta area.

In the fall of 2014, she came full circle by joining Pleasant Hill Animal Hospital again for a part-time staff position. While she enjoys all aspects of being a veterinarian, she has a special interest in surgery, critical care, and animal behavior. She especially enjoys getting to know her patients and their owners.

Dr. Stewart is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

A native of Norcross, she lives with her husband, two children, three cats, and two dogs, which lead her on a merry chase every time they escape. She has also had bunnies, birds, and fish and strongly recommends all of them to families looking to add a pet.
